Tom's Inspiration:

It was a unique thing to have your own car turned into a model kit. It actually was customized three times with three different names: The Piranha, the Puma and finally, Monogram named it the "California Street Vette" in its final version. This car and I have been through many trips and many states together. I tell ya, that 454 rat motor would get so hot I could hardly hold the steering wheel! I still own the car and have restoration plans again for its future.

Year: 1973

Scale: 1/24

What's one of the most popular cars among custom stylists? The Corvette Stingray. And this kit is a 1/24 scale model of an actual full-size custom-styled 'Vette...one that's a familiar sight in Los Angeles area streets. The roof louvers are sporty and functional. A 454 Rat Motor with 4 speed trans is boss when the driver has a mind to spin those Goodyear boots. Black leather seats, Hooker Headers, and nerf bars add the finishing touches to this one-of-a-kind 'Vette...it's the only way to go.
