I painted the original transparent watercolor of the "Coast Daylight"
in 1984. It was intentionally done in the 'Art Deco' style of the late
Leslie Reagan who painted poster art for the New York Central Rail Road
back in the 1930's. The 'West Coast' rail road - the Southern Pacific
- inaugurated daily San Francisco to Los Angeles service in 1937 with
it's world famous 'Daylight' trains. Many claimed that the 'Coast Daylight';
with it's Red, Orange and Black Livery, trimmed in Silver, was the "Most
beautiful Train in the World".
This is
an 8.5" x 11" glossy print signed and dated by Tom Daniel. It's
printed on Hammermill Jet Print Ultra Gloss paper from a quality Epson
inkjet printer. Beautifully retouched with vibrant color, but not "colorfast"
(will fade near sunlight).
